Nearly a century of people walking up and down the wooden stairs in our 1925 house has left a number of steps worn smooth on the front edge, giving them a slipperiness that can sometimes lead to rapid and unintended descents!
Fortunately, this item offers an affordable way to add an anti-slip element to your stairs, old or new. The rubber is thick, with ridges on both the front and top, to give you a good grip, and it and seems like it will last through many more "ups and downs" in our historic house. I'm planning to use this particular set on our attic stairs, since a secure footing is particularly important when I'm carrying up boxes.
I'm slightly skeptical of the longevity of the adhesive on any "stick-on" item, but I'm confident that the stair nosing will last a long time even if I need to re-glue it.
